Hosted by Asylum Research and Irida Company, this free AFM workshop is ideal for researchers that are looking for a solid introduction to the technology and current applications that utilize this powerful technique to understand nanoscale dynamics.  Industry and local academic experts will lecture on these topics:

•  Fundamentals of AFM
•  Nanomechanical characterization
•  Nanoelectrical characterization
•  Latest technological advances and instrumentation for quantitative measurements and easy operation with Asylum AFMs:
  – Video-rate AFM with the Cypher VRS
  – The new revolutionary new large-sample AFM, Jupiter XR

Invited Speakers
Nuno Santos
Evaluation of heart failure and hypertension patients cardiovascular risk by AFM

Mário Rodrigues
Gentle Probe AFM: A non-contact method for measuring the viscoelasticity of soft materials

Elvira Fortunato and Tomás Rosa Calmeiro
Recent AFM applications in CENIMAT: from electrical characterization to mechanical properties

Susana Sério
AFM studies of thin films produced by sputtering and layer by layer

Get a Demonstration of the Cypher VRS Video-Rate AFM
The afternoon of the workshop will include real-world application demonstrations on the Cypher VRS Video-Rate AFM, with scan speeds up to 625 lines per second. It is also an excellent opportunity to ask-the-experts if you have any AFM questions.
